Doctor woes.

It all started with me being unhappy with my skin. On hindsight, it wasn’t that bad at all.

Just a couple of bumps on my cheek which refused to go away, and the occasional pimple.
I was okay with it when I was wearing makeup all day, everyday just cos’ I thought that it was a price to pay since I was clogging my pores. But I stopped wearing makeup everyday since July and I was still plagued by the stupid spots.

So, I trooped down to the Skin Centre, and saw a doc there. She recommended Stieva-A, a cream which is supposed to change the chemical imbalance in my skin and put an end to my whitehead woes.

Five days later, I broke out in rash all over my body. And my face had erupted in painful pimple.
Troop back to Skin Centre and see another doc, who irritated the crap out of my by saying “So these red, unnatural bumps on your skin are causing you some discomfort. Right? ” *dish* I wanted to strangle her. Was asked to stop everything, given some antibiotic roll on for my pimples and told to go for a drug allergy test.

4 weeks later, I’m back at the same place for my supposed drug test. Only to have the doc tell me that it’s not possible I get a Stieva-A allergy, and that it’s probably due to another drug that I’m taking for my gastric problems. I am also told that I will only see results in 6 to 9 weeks, and should return in 6 weeks.

It’s been 3 weeks, and I still have these painful eruptions. On my visit to a doctor yesterday for my horrendous, hacking cough, I asked the GP about this cream and what’s his opinion on it. He whips out his thick handbook on medications and directs me to this page, which says “AR-red, crusted eruptions..etc.” I wasn’t too sure whether what I had would be classified as the above, and so I flashed my handphone pictures (which I had taken to monitor the situation myself) and YES, I was having an allergic reation.

AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh.

I have wasted more than 200 dollars and put my poor face through hell and back.

I’m going back to this Gardens GP to see if he can help me solve what I initially need solutions for in the first place!

Make up galore.

It has been about 2 years since I bought make up proper and I’m in need of an make up box overhaul. I just threw my old make up box away and went through all the make up that has expired/crumbled/emptied out.

And I am now ready to get a lot more! :) Fun fun. Apologise for the inane chatter, need a good check list of sorts ( and advice!)

Have been watching vids on the 88/120 palette that’s available on ebay and have found a girl who buys the supplies in bulk. Eyeshadow, tick.

The dermatologist says that I should only use water based make up and have been trawling the web for brands. Nits told me about Chanel (will check that out), and have read about Mabelline pure.makeup and Lancome. Anyone else knows any good brands? And is there such a thing as water based powder? Am guessing mineral based make up will be a good alternative. Use Mac Studio Fx now, but I probably have to switch out of it soon if I want to stop the god awful bumps that keep recurring on my cheeks. grr.

Managed to get a steal on some Mac brushes at an incredibly low price, will post pictures and a review when I get them. Brushes, tick.

Want to get an eye make up primer, was recommended Mac paint pot. Primer, tick.

Lippies, hmm. There are so many kinds out there, and I usually blend 2 colours and a gloss. Have been checking out ELF and coastal scents and Stage. Should be able to find suitable ones there, I guess. Lippies, tick.

For now, here’s an amazing make up artist I found on youtube. Enjoy!

Britons are among the ugliest people in the world, according to a dating website that says it only allows “beautiful people” to join. Fewer than one in eight British men and just three in 20 women who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted, an emailed statement from the website showed.

Existing members of the “elite dating site” rate how attractive potential members are over a 48 hour period, after applicants upload a recent photo and personal profile. Swedish men have proved the most successful, with 65 percent being accepted, while Norwegian women are considered the most beautiful with 76 percent accepted, the website said.

The way that BeautifulPeople.com accepts new members is simple. A potential member applies with a photo and a brief profile. Over 48 hours, existing members of the opposite sex vote whether or not to admit them, the site said. Options are: “Yes definitely,” “Hmm yes, O.K,” “Hmm no, not really” and “No definitely not.”

The site was founded in 2002 in Denmark and went live across the globe last month. Since then, the site has rejected nearly 1.8 million people from 190 countries, admitting just 360,000 new members. “I would say Britain is stumbling because they don’t spend as much time polishing up their appearance and they are letting themselves down on physical fitness,” Beautiful People managing director Greg Hodge said. “Next to Brazilian and Scandinavian beauties, British people just aren’t as toned or glamorous.”

Only the male Russian and Polish applicants fared worse than British men, although Russian women had a 44 percent acceptance rate. Polish women did not appear in the table.

German applicants were slated for offering up unflattering photographs, which may have hindered their acceptance rates at 15 percent for men and 13 percent for women, the lowest rate in their category. “German men and women aren’t faring well, but they are submitting stern images, they need to soften up,” Hodge said.

Well, hmm. Nal, told you so? :):):)

Can’t wait to unveil it as yet ( minor technicality, ahem ) but when I do, it’ll be so much more fun!!

Doing a crazy dance in my head ( as I have been these past 2 weeks).

And I look forward to making more for the big day!

hugggggggggssssss.

all that glitters is not gold.

Que tout n’est pas or qu’on voit luire.

Vraiment, absolument.

awesome foursome.

While this long weekend has definitely been an eye opening one with revelations and such, one thing has come through quite beautifully.

The awesome foursome.

Through side splitting jokes ( Rad, loud and boomz ), mind numbing games (stupid flower! GR#%$#YR@^W ) and emotional bonding sessions, the awesome foursome is here to stay.

And I couldn’t be happier.

Wish it had turned out better in some ways, but life has a funny way of showing you things. I’m glad it did in the end though. Better now, than later.

Much love to the awesome foursome (and mummy dearest, but she doesn’t read this. oh well. ). Can’t wait for the next holiday together!
