It has been about 2 years since I bought make up proper and I’m in need of an make up box overhaul. I just threw my old make up box away and went through all the make up that has expired/crumbled/emptied out.
And I am now ready to get a lot more! :) Fun fun. Apologise for the inane chatter, need a good check list of sorts ( and advice!)
Have been watching vids on the 88/120 palette that’s available on ebay and have found a girl who buys the supplies in bulk. Eyeshadow, tick.
The dermatologist says that I should only use water based make up and have been trawling the web for brands. Nits told me about Chanel (will check that out), and have read about Mabelline pure.makeup and Lancome. Anyone else knows any good brands? And is there such a thing as water based powder? Am guessing mineral based make up will be a good alternative. Use Mac Studio Fx now, but I probably have to switch out of it soon if I want to stop the god awful bumps that keep recurring on my cheeks. grr.
Managed to get a steal on some Mac brushes at an incredibly low price, will post pictures and a review when I get them. Brushes, tick.
Want to get an eye make up primer, was recommended Mac paint pot. Primer, tick.
Lippies, hmm. There are so many kinds out there, and I usually blend 2 colours and a gloss. Have been checking out ELF and coastal scents and Stage. Should be able to find suitable ones there, I guess. Lippies, tick.
For now, here’s an amazing make up artist I found on youtube. Enjoy!

i was so into that eyeshadow pallete and found a few ppl who supplied it at very good rates. but i was skeptical on the quality. So, i stopped myself for buying it. Am really liking my stage stuff. The lipstick and gloss we got there was good. If u need to buy stuff there, can use my membership card.
My collegue is so into Everyday Minerals now, and swears bt it. Since u are having skin issues, i would suggest u get that. I may try it, but I still love MAC power many many.
I just bought Make Up Forever foundation and the colour matched my skin v v well. I happy happy.
Also bought MAC’s paint pot to use as an eyeshadow base. I’m in love with it! My eyeshaow stayed the whole day, did not crease and my eyeshadow colour was more brilliant.
Can’t wait for my make up palette to come..then will tell you all about it. Maybe even put up my own review. Hehe:)
Feel so girly. Fun fun!
I am a major MAC fan, but MAC is really definitely bad for your skin la babe. A lot of people call it stage makeup (some meanies even drag makeup) because its so thick and will definitely clog up your pores and aggravate skin. Try the new stuff up on Sephora – their mineral powders are a bit lighter and there are a variety of colours.
Also there are a few more clinical brands that have started manufacturing makeup as well – like Dermalogica and stuff. Maybe those things will ensure your skin doesn’t get aggravated.
Btw I was also skeptical about the coastal scents palette – but I got it from my sister as a b’day gift (there are quite a few people selling it at cheaper prices on FB than Ebay) – and its really amazing! The colour payoff is super fantastic – esp the shimmer palette. I hear the blush palette is great too. But you’re right – an eyeshadow base can make any eyeshadow be like that too. The one from Makeup Forever is good too!
Gosh, I am reading what I just wrote and I really sound like a makeup junkie. Sorry ah.
Yay!Don’t say sorry! makeup junkies unite:) (though i think i still have a long way to go in terms of knowledge and technique)..
I was just thinking of getting the Elizabeth Arden mineral powder cuz i somehow lost my Mac fix it recently (maybe a sign)…and saw a really nice blush from Stage.
I just got a huge make up box as a birthday gift from the constants:) Will take pictures and post about my make up overhaul soon.
*insert girly giggle*
For foundations try bobbi brown (I’m pretty sure you can get it in Singapore)- I have tried mac, Dior, Lauder, revlon and god only knows what else on my face and by far bb is the best. Light, natural and great for the skin. I’ve got Geet and val in to it too. I swear by this stuff so give it a go x
